Paradise Island

Paradise Island became a TBFN Nature Reserve on December 14, 2007

Paradise Island is about 28 hectares (60 acres in size). It is located in the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area and the Lake Superior Archipelago on the south side of Ignace Island, south of Nipigon. The island is exposed to the open waters of Lake Superior.

This project was supported by the Greenlands Program, an Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources-Nature Conservancy of Canada initiative. Additional generous support of this purchase was provided by the EJLB Foundation and the McLean Foundation.

We also wish to thank the numerous private donors who came forward to make this project a success.
