DIRECTIONS TO THE LOCATION: East of Thunder Bay, ON 11/17 E to Lakeshore Drive. Right on Coral Beach Road. Left onto Coral Bay Drive (passing by firehall) to Conservation Area parking lot.
PARKING: LRCA parking lot $5 or LRCA Explore card (ride share may be prearranged amongst participants)
RECOMMENDATIONS: Appropriate footwear and clothing for anticipated conditions. Desired equipment for activity and bring own chair/setup.
RESTROOM FACILITIES: (adjacent camp available with facilities)
WALKING DISTANCE: Approx. 83 m to waters edge from parking lot. Site is approx. 1/4 acre in size. Uneven rock surface and worn pathways through vegetation to large rock outcrop. Option of a hike of approx. 600 m along gravelled rail bed trail to mouth of MacKenzie River and rail bridge. Uneven steep rocky climb to granite outcrop close to fast moving water (dependent on water levels) featuring small eddies and waterfalls. Small accessible beach on other side of railway bridge crossing of high elevation, open ties.
