Field Trip – Canoe Exploration: Aquatic Plants in Boulevard Lake

Join TBFNC President Al Harris on July 12, 2026 to look for aquatic plants in the north end of Boulevard Lake. Participants will learn how to identify pondweeds, milfoils, bulrushes and other species. The field trip will consist of a short paddle with frequent stops. Participants may also do some wading in shallow water.

Participants will meet at the parking lot on the west side of Boulevard Lake at the beach (Lyon Boulevard north of the end of Algoma Street) at 9:00 am on July 12, 2026. The trip should finish by approximately 1:00 pm.

Participants must supply their own canoe, paddles, PFDs, and safety kits. Participants should also bring water shoes, raingear, sunscreen and drinking water and be prepared for mosquitos and other biting insects.

Al Harris will have room in his canoe for one or two people. There is a limit of 10 participants.
