Field Trip – Boreal Birding with Ontario Field Ornithologists *** Note: This Outing is now Full ***

On May 29, 2026, join expert birder Nick Escott on this joint field trip offered by the Ontario Field Ornithologists and Thunder Bay Field Naturalists.

We will meet at the Landmark Hotel parking lot at 6:30 am and drive approximately an hour to a boreal habitat location (exact location to be determined) to look for breeding birds of the boreal forest along a logging road, flat walking. This outing involves a long drive and car pooling is encouraged. We will slowly drive along the road and stop to walk and listen in a number of locations. (There is very limited walking at the stops.)

There will be no bathroom facilities. Please bring lunch and drinks and layered warm clothing. Rain gear may be necessary. We hope to be back in Thunder Bay by mid afternoon.
