Laneway Corridors – Wolf Packs Event

1, August 21, 2022 @ 1:00 PM 3:00 PM

Does your yard include habitat for wildlife? Do birds come over for tasty berries, seeds, or bugs? Maybe you put out a bird house for shelter and even a bird bath with clean, fresh water. Or, your family might have taken part in the growing trend of providing habitat for insects by planting milkweed and other native plants in your garden.

On their own, these small patches of habitat can only do so much. However, when many small patches are connected together, they can become a powerful force for conservation. Some of these links, or corridors, can be found right behind our homes: in back lanes! Join guest leader, John Walas, for a stroll down some back lanes to learn about urban habitats and think about how those habitats are connected or broken apart. We will see first-hand both the opportunities and challenges that come with these back lane habitat connections.
