1, August 16, 2025 @ 9:30 AM

Note: This outing is now full.

Hosts – Sue Bryan (and other TBFNC Board members and Mike Bryan)

Description – Enjoy an adventure trip along rugged Lake Superior shoreline in a zodiac boat operated by “Sail Superior”.  Four separate trips of 10 passengers (each with a TBFNC guide) will visit two new TBFNC Nature Reserve properties (Mink Bay Nature Reserve, and an addition to Caldwell Lake Nature Reserve).   Boat departs from Little Trout Bay Conservation Area dock and will travel up the coastline stopping to observe birds, cliffs, and arctic plants that are visible from the water. Trip includes a 1 hour shore visit at Caldwell Lake Nature Reserve.  Total trip time approximately 3 hours (2 hours on boat, 1 hour shore visit) excluding driving time to reach the docks.   Low difficulty level.

Location:  Meet at the LRCA Little Trout Bay Conservation Area parking area and dock (see map below) at least 15 minutes prior to departure time on your ticket.  Your group leader will put you in touch with others in your group wanting to car pool to this location (no guarantees though).  Parking (not included in ticket price) is $5 per car (pay at kiosk) or current Explore Card purchased from the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority.

Transportation:  Sail Superior provides the rigid inflatable boat with canopy roof and capable crew to take us on the trip.  Parking, pick up/drop off is at the LRCA dock at Little Trout Bay Conservation Area south of the city. Meet with your group leader at the docks 15 minutes before boat departure time.

Tickets – Price $50:   Ticket Sales open at 6:30 pm on Monday, May 26 at the upcoming AGM and General Meeting of TBFN at Lunan Hall.  Live sales only on the first night.  No advance ticket sales.  Payment in cash or by cheque only.  No credit cards accepted.  No online sales through the TBFN web site.   Members may buy 1 personal ticket and maximum of 1 additional ticket for an accompanying non-member friend.  Ticket sales are open to members only (the ticket price is subsidized by TBFN to make this an appealing trip for members).

Ticket sales are final.  No refunds.  If you are unable to go in August after purchasing your ticket please sell it to someone else or gift it to a friend.  With 44 passengers (4 trips of 11 people each) TBFN cannot be responsible for resale of your ticket on your behalf.

Any tickets not sold on May 26 at the opening night of sales will be retained by Sue Bryan and may be purchased directly by contacting Sue (bryan@tbaytel.net or 807-345-6446) after the May 26 TBFN Meeting. Once tickets are sold out, the “Trip Full” information will appear on the TBFN web site.
