Field Trip – Birding Right in the City

You don’t have to go far in Thunder Bay to have great birding opportunities. Join keen birder Samantha Krause to explore one of our local birding hotspots, Chippewa Park! Chippewa is located at 2465 City Road, Thunder Bay. Meet at the main beach parking lot at 8:00 am and we will slowly walk along the waterfront, through the forest and to some ponds that are a magnet for returning waterfowl. Total walk distance is less than 3 km on flat trails.
Please remember to dress in layers for the changeable spring weather (it could be quite cold in the morning) and to bring snacks and drinks. Sturdy footwear or boots are recommended. Rain gear may be needed, depending on the forecast. There could be ticks in this area, so wear protective clothing and/or bug repellant.
