October 9th is the fall Global Big Day and World Migratory Bird Day. Global Big Days celebrate birds and birding while collecting valuable observation data during the spring and fall migration seasons. We will participate in this community science initiative with Keith Wade who will lead us on a trip to observe land and water birds at Mission Marsh Conservation Area. We will discuss bird migration and the impacts of climate change on migrating birds.
This is a combined event for both Efts (12-15 year olds) and NEWTs (high school students 15+).
